New Musicians Are Invited to Join the Orchestra

LCCO is always looking for new musicians interested in playing with the orchestra.

We often search for violinists because the orchestra needs more strings than any other type of instrument. But, ALL instrumentalists in the eighth grade or older are invited to participate in rehearsals and concerts.

LCCO includes a full complement of orchestral woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings. Musicians are expected to attend all rehearsals, concerts, and dress rehearsals for the duration of the season.

Rehearsals are most Tuesdays at 6:30 at Lee County High School. Dress rehearsals occur on the Friday evening before a performance weekend. Music folders are distributed at the first rehearsal for each set of concerts and must be returned at the conclusion of the concert weekend.

Student Musician Guidelines

LCCO welcomes student musicians in the eighth grade and older. Students should be aware that the majority of LCCO's repertoire is grade 6+.

To participate in concerts, pre-college students must not miss more than two rehearsals leading into each set of concerts and must return all music promptly at the end of each concert weekend.

Pre-college students may be excused from the rest of the season if they miss more than two rehearsals or fail to return music from a previous concert. Extenuating circumstances should be discussed with the music director. The music director reserves the right to audition new pre-college student musicians.
